“Dear NICU Mama, My hope for you in 2026 is that you find strength and happiness in the stage of motherhood you are in.

Your beginning stage of motherhood is probably not what you were expecting or envisioning; however, you are strong and the best advocate for your baby. You will find strength in the deepest part of your soul as you look at the little fighter you created. Regardless of what you have been through, you were chosen for your baby and will protect them at all costs. You may struggle at times, but you are not alone in this journey!

Your journey may look different than your friends and family, and you may feel like you missed out on certain things, but those things don’t define motherhood or your love. You and your baby matter and that can never be taken from you.”

Love,
Alyssa

More of Our Journey:

“A little about our NICU journey. My son, Jaxson, was born at 25 weeks in 2023.  There’s really no explanation as to why he came early, that was just his plan I guess! He had a Grade 3 and 4 brain bleed on his second day of life. That then turned into hydrocephalus leading to him needing a couple of brain surgeries and he now has a VP shunt. We were in the NICU for 5.5 months before coming home. Jaxson was diagnosed with Mild Cerebral Palsy in early 2025.  But he is walking and talking and finally catching up to his milestones! He is a true fighter and such an inspiration. Despite everything he has been through, he is doing so well!”
