Love, Gabrielle

“Dear NICU Mama, Your motherhood journey is one of extraordinary strength, love, and resilience. While it may not have followed the path you once envisioned, it is one paved with courage, fierce devotion, immense love and an unbreakable bond between you and your precious baby.

Every beep of the monitors, every late-night by the isolette or crib, every whispered prayer and gentle touch—your love knows no bounds. Even on the toughest days, you shine with the kind of strength that deserves to be celebrated.

Though the world may not see the depth of your sacrifice, I want you to know you are seen, you are cherished, you are an incredible mother, you are brave, you are beautiful, and you are more than enough.

So today, I hope you take a moment to honor yourself—the fierce mama who fights for her baby with every ounce of love in her heart. You are not alone in this journey called motherhood, and your love makes all the difference.”

Love,
Gabrielle

More of Gabrielle + Her Kids’ NICU Journeys:

“All three of my amazing kids had their own unique journeys, each spending time in the NICU—five different ones altogether! Winston made his debut at 32 weeks after I suddenly developed HELLP syndrome. In his first week, he faced a challenge with NEC, but thanks to early detection and great care, he overcame it with no lasting complications.

Nolan arrived at 32+2 when I developed pre-eclampsia. To avoid a HELLP recurrence, the doctors decided it was time for him to join us. He was born during the height of COVID, so we spent six quiet, bonding weeks in almost complete isolation. It turned out he had a true knot in his umbilical cord, so we’re incredibly grateful he came when he did.

Elaine was our earliest arrival at 30+5. She was diagnosed with IUGR and had a PDA that didn’t respond to medication. This brave little girl took a flight for a special heart procedure, where a piccolo device was successfully placed—what a little warrior!”
